1. Early Morning Pick-up
Your day starts before dawn, around 4:30–5:00 AM. You’ll be picked up from your lodge or campsite and driven to the launch site.
2. Balloon Inflation and Safety Briefing
Once at the launch site, you’ll watch as the massive balloon is inflated. The pilot will give a safety briefing, explaining how to board and what to expect during the flight.
3. Takeoff at Sunrise
As the sun rises, the balloon gently lifts off, carrying you over the Serengeti. The ride is smooth and peaceful, with only the occasional burst of heat from the burner.
4. A 60-Minute Aerial Safari
During the flight, your experienced pilot will guide the balloon at different altitudes, allowing for both broad landscape views and closer wildlife spotting.
5. Landing and Champagne Celebration
After approximately one hour, the pilot carefully lands the balloon. Traditionally, a champagne toast follows, a tradition dating back to the first hot air balloon flight in 1783.
6. Bush Breakfast
You’ll then be escorted to a beautiful outdoor setting where a delicious bush breakfast awaits. Expect fresh fruits, eggs, bacon, sausages, coffee, and of course, more champagne.
