DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania!
Met by our representative on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport or
Arusha Airport. Transfer to your accommodation in Arusha for
an overnight stay.
If you arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport the drive to the hotel in
Arusha will take about 45 mins, around 50Kms
Day 2: Arusha to Serengeti NP
After breakfast, you’ll meet your guide for a safari briefing before beginning a scenic six-hour drive to Serengeti National Park. The route passes through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering sweeping views of the Ngorongoro Crater from the rim. The journey continues across open plains dotted with ancient baobab trees and traditional Maasai homesteads, providing a glimpse into the region’s unique landscape and culture.
You’ll stop along the way for a picnic lunch before arriving in the Seronera region of central Serengeti. This area is known for its abundant wildlife, thanks to the Seronera River which supports animals throughout the year. It’s one of the best places to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and wildebeest. If your timing is right, you may witness part of the Great Migration.
By late afternoon, you’ll head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Wake up early and head out for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. The vast open plains offer spectacular opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. You’ll explore different areas of the park, moving through diverse landscapes and habitats rich with animal activity.
Throughout the day, you may encounter a wide range of species including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and various antelopes. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards may also be spotted as they roam the savanna. Luckily, you might even spot all members of the Big Five in a single day.
During midday, you’ll take a break to enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location within the park. In the evening, return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the serene sounds of the wild.
Day 4: Serengeti NP to Ngorongoro Area
After breakfast, you’ll set off with a packed lunch for an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, exploring the plains during the prime wildlife viewing hours between 08:00 and 10:00. This is a great time to witness animals as they are most active in the cool morning lights on the move, elephants grazing, and herds of antelope beginning their day.
After an unforgettable game drive and a peaceful bush lunch, the journey continues toward the crater rim. As the scenery shifts every mile, you may spot more wildlife along the way.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the lodge, ready to unwind above one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders—Ngorongoro.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife.
In midday, you will have your lunch at the base of the crater. This collapsed volcano is the main feature of the area and creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. Enjoy the beautiful colours of the landscapes and the diversity of animals.
The crater is home to the highest concentration wildlife in Africa and is choked with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five. The views from the crater rim over the crater floor are incredible. Because of its natural beauty the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders.
In the afternoon we will ascend the crater and drive to Arusha town for dinner and overnight stay
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the lodge, ready to unwind above one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders—Ngorongoro.
Day 6: Transfer to the Airport and fly to Zanzibar
After breakfast and picked up from the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for a morning flight to Zanzibar. Our representative in Zanzibar Airport will pick you up and transfer to your hotel in Stone town to check in.
You’ll then proceed with a Stone Town city tour where you will get an opportunity to visit the fruit market, the cathedral, slave markets, the sultan’s palace, Tip Tip’s House, The Old Arabic Fort, Freddie Mercury House, Forodhani Park, and the Famous Zanzibar Doors in the petite streets.
In the afternoon you’ll walk back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Spice Tour and Prison Island
After breakfast and pick up from the hotel, and drive to Kidichi for the spice tour. On this tour, you will see, feel and taste tropical fruits and spices. You will then enjoy your spicy lunch at around 12:00 pm.
At around 01:00 pm we’ll board the dhow and sail towards Prison Island. There, you will see a prison built for “rebellious slaves”, giant Aldabra tortoises.
In the late afternoon, we’ll set sail back to Stone Town and you will be transferred to the Eastern Coast of Zanzibar for an overnight stay.
Day 8 - 9: Relaxation at the Beach in Zanzibar
You will spend these two nights at the beautiful Golden Tulip Hotel.
