Later in the evening, you’ll drive onward to the town of Karatu, where dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 3: Karatu to Lake Natron
After breakfast you will drive to Lake Natron that is wild and remote. It is situated at the base of Africa’s only active volcano, Oldoinyo Lengai, which is known as the Mountain of God to the local Maasai people. Lake Natron is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world. The lake is home to millions of tiny crustaceans, attracting literally thousands of lesser flamingos and it is therefore one of the most important flamingo breeding grounds on earth. The area around Lake Natron contains some of the most harsh and amazing scenery in Africa.
After a lunch in midday, together with your guide, you will be accompanied by a local Maasai guide and walk up to the Engero Sero Waterfalls. Winding up through the shady gorge, you will reach a beautiful natural swimming pool surrounded by steep rock walls showered by cascading spring water where you will have the opportunity to swim.
After today’s activities you will walk back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight
Day 4: Karatu to Serengeti NP
After breakfast, you’ll depart from your hotel in Karatu and begin the journey to Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater along the way. The trip usually takes around seven hours, depending on the wildlife you encounter en route, especially in the southern plains where animals often gather in large numbers.
You’ll stop for a picnic lunch along the way, then continue to the heart of the park—known as the Seronera area. This central region, nourished by the Seronera River, is one of the most wildlife-rich habitats in the Serengeti and teems with iconic species year-round.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll drive to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Full day Serengeti NP
Wake up early and head out for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. The vast open plains offer spectacular opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. You’ll explore different areas of the park, moving through diverse landscapes and habitats rich with animal activity.
Throughout the day, you may encounter a wide range of species including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and various antelopes. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards may also be spotted as they roam the savanna. Luckily, you might even spot all members of the Big Five in a single day.
During midday, you’ll take a break to enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location within the park.
In the evening, return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the serene sounds of the wild.
Day 6:Serengeti NP to Karatu
After breakfast, you’ll set off with a packed lunch for an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, exploring the plains during the prime wildlife viewing hours between 08:00 and 10:00. This is a wonderful time to witness animals at their most active elephants grazing in the open fields, predators on the move, and herds of antelope beginning their day.
Following the game drive, you’ll enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch in the heart of the bush. Afterward, you’ll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing through breathtaking landscapes along the way. The drive offers more chances to encounter wildlife as you gradually ascend toward the highlands.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Karatu, a charming town nestled in the green hills just outside the Ngorongoro Forest. Check in to your lodge or farmhouse and unwind for the evening, enjoying a delicious dinner and reflecting on the day’s adventures.

Day 7: Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater/Lake Eyasi
After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, descending into the caldera for a half-day game drive. Often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the Crater is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, rhinos, and hippos, all set against a dramatic backdrop of cliffs and lush landscapes.
In the early afternoon, you’ll ascend from the crater and begin the scenic drive to Lake Eyasi.
Upon arrival, you’ll head to your lodge, where dinner will be served and you’ll settle in for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Lake Eyasi to Arusha
After an early morning breakfast, you depart for your cultural tour with the hadzabe community. This is your day with a typical cultural tribe and engage in real hunting together. It is a tribe of hunters and collectors. A visit with the hadzabe is worthwhile as they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt.
Hadzabe lives in traditional ways, hunting games such as dik-diks and collecting honey. Their huts are simple, built in a few hours and easily abandoned. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting. Everything they use is made from local materials, including their bows which are strung with giraffe tendon and their arrows which are coated in lethal poison. Their language resembles that of Kalahari Bushmen tribe (who were featured in the 1980 film ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’) with clicking noises.
After hunting and engagement with the tribe, you depart for Arusha with a stop for your lunch on the way.
Later Drop to Airport for flight back.
