Day 3: Karatu to Lake Manyara NP
After breakfast, you’ll depart from your hotel and head straight into Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. Though compact in size, this park is bursting with life and scenic beauty. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is known for its diverse ecosystems—from dense groundwater forests to open grassy floodplains and the shimmering alkaline lake itself.
As you explore, you may encounter herds of elephants moving gracefully through the woodlands, large groups of baboons playing in the trees, and—if fortune favors you—tree-climbing lions lounging in the branches. The lake’s shores are often painted pink with thousands of flamingos, while other wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, and buffaloes roam nearby. The Hippo Pool is a favorite stop, offering close-up views of these massive creatures wallowing in the water, with the dramatic Rift Valley cliffs rising in the background.
In the evening, after a short rest and early dinner at your lodge or camp, you’ll head out for a night game drive. With the aid of spotlights and your guide’s expertise, you’ll explore the park under the cover of darkness and experience its unique nighttime atmosphere. It’s an unforgettable adventure that offers a whole new perspective on the African wilderness.

Day 4: Karatu to Serengeti NP
After breakfast, you’ll depart from your hotel in Karatu and begin the journey to Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater along the way. The trip usually takes around seven hours, depending on the wildlife you encounter en route, especially in the southern plains where animals often gather in large numbers.
You’ll stop for a picnic lunch along the way, then continue to the heart of the park—known as the Seronera area. This central region, nourished by the Seronera River, is one of the most wildlife-rich habitats in the Serengeti and teems with iconic species year-round.
Later in the afternoon, you’ll drive to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Narudi Tented Camp
Day 5: Full day Serengeti NP
Wake up early and head out for a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. The vast open plains offer spectacular opportunities to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. You’ll explore different areas of the park, moving through diverse landscapes and habitats rich with animal activity.
Throughout the day, you may encounter a wide range of species including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and various antelopes. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards may also be spotted as they roam the savanna. Luckily, you might even spot all members of the Big Five in a single day.
During midday, you’ll take a break to enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location within the park.
In the evening, return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay, surrounded by the serene sounds of the wild.
Accommodation: Narudi Tented Camp
Day 6: Serengeti NP to Karatu
After breakfast, you’ll set off with a packed lunch for an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, exploring the plains during the prime wildlife viewing hours between 08:00 and 10:00. This is a wonderful time to witness animals at their most active elephants grazing in the open fields, predators on the move, and herds of antelope beginning their day.
Following the game drive, you’ll enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch in the heart of the bush. Afterward, you’ll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing through breathtaking landscapes along the way. The drive offers more chances to encounter wildlife as you gradually ascend toward the highlands.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Karatu, a charming town nestled in the green hills just outside the Ngorongoro Forest. Check in to your lodge or farmhouse and unwind for the evening, enjoying a delicious dinner and reflecting on the day’s adventures.
Accommodation: Eileen Tree Inn
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, you’ll depart from Karatu and begin the short drive—about 30 minutes—to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you approach the rim of the crater, the landscape opens up to reveal one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders: the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
You’ll descend over 600 meters into the crater floor, where a rich tapestry of wildlife awaits. This natural enclosure is home to an extraordinary concentration of animals, including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, and the elusive black rhino. With a bit of luck, you may spot all members of the legendary Big Five in a single game drive. Around midday, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the crater, surrounded by the vibrant colors of the grasslands and the dramatic backdrop of the crater walls.
In the afternoon, you’ll ascend back to the crater rim and begin your journey to the airport for your evening flight home—carrying with your unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s wild heart.
